Hello,

If you still encounter any communication issue between the 2.4G and 5G connection, please try to upgrade the below beta firmware and get back to us, thanks:

How to upgrade it?
How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers

Let me know if the issue is resolved or not. Have a nice day.

Hi,

thanks - can you confirm whether I would be able to downgrade to the previous beta firmware, if I upgraded to this one and it made things worse?

the router has been stable as long as I don't touch the config. So I want to minimise changes on it.

Hello, sorry that this latest beta firmware will not be allowed to downgrade to the previous beta.

However, if there is still an issue after upgrading to this beta, our engineers will help with the downgrade as the whole process is a little bit complicated.

Want to add that I had the exact same issue w/ Sonos speakers as well (all other devices working fine and there are 16 of them, so this does seem to be an issue that is specifically impacting something Sonos requires to function)

Contacted Sonos support who had me change the 2.4ghz network to a manually-set channel (11), and that seemed to have resolved the issue for the past few weeks. Wanted to mention this as a datapoint bc Justin had mentioned that setting the channel manually seemed to be related in some way for his case as well. I am on the latest public firmware release, haven't tried the beta. I cannot get the speakers to connect at all with Smart Connect turned on or with Smart Connect off but with the 2.4ghz channel selection set to auto. This morning, several of the speakers again disappeared from the Sonos app (depsite not changing any router settings, and despite them appearing as connected in the router's settings page). In this case for some unknown reason my laptop was able to get them connected again but phone was not.

@Kevin_Z Will the beta firmware presumably make it to a production release once these issues are ironed out? I'm also considering returning the router because of these issues with very basic functionality. I previously had a very old, inexpensive router in place with absolutely no issues and this one has proven not to be much of an upgrade unfortunately :(

@JustinW Have you been able to give the newer beta firmware a try? Any luck? For what it's worth, my Beam always stays connected, only the 2x Ones have the issue...very odd.

@Eab6287 I haven't tried the second beta firmware yet.

The router has been pretty stable on the first beta so far (as long as I don't touch the settings). I haven't noticed the loss of a single speaker.

also with working from home I can't afford to risk introducing instability. Might try it this week though.

I think the Sonos devices are highly reliant on diect comms with each other, and this router keeps switching back to endpoint isolation.

Justin

Hello, sorry to respond late.

I have downloaded this firmware updated and successfully installed it on my AX6000. I have been having the same issues as others on this thread, not only with my SONOS system but with Roku and other devices that need to communicate with each other on my network for them to work. I have SmartConnect enabled and after installing this firmware, so far, all my devices are now working properly. My Sonos system can see all the Sonos devices across the network. I will update if I have any issues but so far so good!

@Kevin_Z Once the beta firmware has been successfully tested and has become a general release, will my router automatically updated to the general release version? Also, is there any timeline for when this will be a new general firmware release?

@Eroc

The router will notify you of a firmware update is available. Up to you if you're brave enough to install it

@Kevin_Z

This Beta firmware fixed the same issue for me, as well as with other devices a WEMO Dimmer Swithc and a Cannon all in one printer, both stoped working on wifi
