Deco M9 Plus V2 Firmware Upgrade Tool
Deco M9 Plus V2 Firmware Upgrade Tool
Hi, I'm trying to upgrade my M9 plus from 1.2.11 to 1.4 using the upgrade tool.
However the tool won't even let me log in using my TP Link ID and password! I can log in and out of the app and have even changed the password but still no joy. I've also succesfully logged in to this forum using it!
Any advice please? Thanks in advance

Hi, no worries, the upgrade utility will only scan for the hardware version 2, it will not scan for the version 1, so the one that the upgrade utility identifies is the V2 unit.

I've managed to log in by just keep pressing log in, after several tries it logs in.
I do a scan and it pops up scanning for about 2 seconds and then nothing, the window just disappears.
I'm connected via ethernet and using the latest Windows 10.

Hello, sorry about that.
We do receive two customers' feedback that they cannot update the firmware on their Windows 10 computer, but they successfully update the firmware via MAC or Windows server.
Do you have any other computer which can be used to give it a go? If not, we will need to check more details and try to help you:
1. What is the version of your Windows 10, Is there any anti-virus software running when using this upgrade tool?
2. Is there any error message when you cannot login? And if there is no issue about the login but you cannot scan the Deco M9 in your network, please ensure all Deco units are working fine and correctly shows online on the Deco app?
3. How those Decos are connected? If possible, try to connect one Deco to this Windows 10 with an Ethernet cable and run the tool again.
Thanks.

Hi, I've tried 3 PCs, all are running Windows 10 Home version 2004, unfortunately I don't have any with another OS on.
I've connected to the main Deco with an ethernet cable, I have to press log in at least 5 times, sometimes it can be over 20 attempts before it logs in, I get the attached error
message.
When I eventually log in and press scan it scans for a second or two, I get the rotating blue circle for a second or two as attached and the program closes down,
I've disabled firewall and anti virus on the PC and all Deco units (3) are online in the app.
Does the Antivirus on the Deco need to be disabled?

I remembered I have a work laptop which I tried the upgrade from and which was succesful.
The work laptop is Windows 10 Pro V1903, I connected to the master M9 with an ethernet cable and all 3 have been ugraded succesfully (I can see on the app all units have firmware 1.4.0)
So it appears the problem was with Windows 10 Home V2004.

Hi,
I am trying to upgrade the firmnware on a M9 Plus (EU) V2 that I have running as a secondary in my home network together with three other Deco M9 Plus V1 units (also EU)
One of the V1 units are primary.
The Upgrade tool (M9Plus_2.0_upgrade_tool_v1.1.1_macOS) is only identifying one Deco unit in the network.
Can I be certain that it is the V2 unit that the upgrade tool have identified, and not one of the three V1 units?
I don't want to accidentally upgrade a V1 with the V2 firmware
Thanks

Hi, this issue is creating a lot of issues for me. My iphone is not connecting to Wifi. I use this for my work and business.
I am not able to upgrade the firmware with the firmware tool because it closes without an warning or information.
Cannot find any logs either.
Issue :
I am able to open the Upgrade Tool, then log in successfully. But as soon as I start scanning, the application closes.
I have taken the following measures
1. Disabled all other internet connections including wifi
2. Connected to DECO using ethernet.
3. Disabled Antivirus (Bit defender)
4. Disabled VPN (NordVPN)
4. Allowed the Upgrade tool through Firewall
Windows Details
Windows 10 Pro
OS Build 19041.572
Version 2004
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0
Please advice how this can be fixed.

@RobF Hi, I've had the same issue on W10.
