Deco M5 Power Adapter
Hello.
I got a Deco M5 mesh wifi system. I am looking forward to install one of the devices on a wall; the issue is with the power adapter (not long enough).
I wan to use a PoE splitter (TP Link TL-POE1R), but I need to be sure about the Deco's barrel diameter to get the adapter.
- External diameter : 5.5 mm
- Internal diameter: 2.1 or 2.5 mm? (not sure if it is 2.1mm or 2.5 mm).
Can you confirm the diameter so I get the right size adapter?

Hello,
Sorry that the Deco M5 doesn't support PoE and it needs to be powered on by the supplied power adapter, which it's a USB Type-C connector for V1, and DC output for V2 & V3.
Good days.

The versions shipping now are not USB-C, I've got three V3 units and they are not USB-C.
I seem to recall seeing that USB-C power was dropped after V1, and V2 M5 onwards were supplied with 12V/1.2A barrel connector.
Now the question still stands, what size...
I'm going to try getting a POE converter to test this out as I need to do the same. Will get back with an update on the outcome at some point.

Hello
You will need size: DC5.5x2.1mm
(5.5mm external, 2.1mm internal)
and since the supply power needed is:
12V 1.2A, you will need at least 1.2A in the splitter.
Hope this can help.

Thanks for the feedback @Ccarlos , much appreciated
However, for various reasons I decided to ditch Deco and have changed to an Omada setup instead
