Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Latest as of 18/07/2020

Hello

Maybe it is a basic question.

I have my archer C6 installed, behind my ISP router.

All my settings are done and everything is working correctly.

I can connect from outside to my various devices (cameras, NVR, pi, stations, etc), using adequate ports redirections.

I would like to be able to connect to my Archer C6 from outside to be able to restart it or change settings remotely.

I do not know how to do that. Tether app doesn't show it when outside, also anyway thether app doesn't have advanced settings like port or DHCP.

I cannot put in the router a port redirection to itself, which could be a solution (it is just not allowed).

Maybe there is an easy way to do it. I would like to know.

Thank you

@Topinambour

Hello,

You may refer to this FAQ to enable the Remote Access on the router web UI:

How to set up Remote Management on the Wi-Fi Routers

There are no port forwarding settings on the Tether app and you need to bind the router to a TP-Link cloud account then you will be able to manage it from an outside network via the Tether app:

How to register a TP-Link cloud account for my TP-Link wireless router to manage it remotely?

May it helps.

@Kevin_Z

A few minutes to set up and it works perfectly for both Tether remote access (for high level actions) and Web UI remote access (for more detailed actions).

Thank you
