Model: Adapter
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I was going through "Archer D20 AC750 Wireless Dual Band ADSL2+ Modem Router" user manual and found that Downstream data rates up to 24Mbps, upstream data rates up to 1Mbps. And also it mentions that Simultaneous 2.4GHz 300Mbps and 5GHz 450Mbps connections for 750Mbps of total available bandwidth (see below screenshot). I'm confused here what does this 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream means? If I have a connection that has 100Mbps download speed and 20Mbps upload speed, and this Archer D20 cannot handle it?

@TROJANxHORSE

Hello,

Thank you for your information.

For the Archer D20, it is an AC750 Wireless Dual Band ADSL2+ Modem Router.

So if you use it as an ADSL modem router,  due to the limitation of the ADSL technology, the download bandwidth is up to 24M/s;

While, if it is used a wireless router(EWAN connection mentioned on the main feature) connected to a VDSL, cable or fiber modems, the speed is up to 100M/s due to the 10/100Mbps RJ45 WAN/LAN Port;

As for the 2.4GHz 300Mbps and 5GHz 450Mbps, they are all wireless negotiation speed between the router and the wireless clients, not the final download speed.

For more details about the negotiation speed, please refer to https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/1386

So if the connection that has 100Mbps download speed and 20Mbps upload speed, is based on the DSL line, Archer D20 is not a suitable device.

Thank you~

@Sunshine Thank you for the reply.

I got this Archer D20 last week and connected to my main router through 10/100 EWAN port as a Wireless Router Mode. Main router is capable of 100Mbps/20Mbps. This is what I was expecting.

Thanks Again.
