Model: Adapter
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I had huge lags/freezes in Overwatch game.

Then I realised that T2U Plus USB card is getting disconnecting.

So I used USB Tathering from my phone and I had 0 lags.

That means It's T2U Plus issue.

What I tried already:

- disablind driver updates in Win10 (preventing drivers overriding)

- tested official drivers and drivers brought by Windows update

- setting Power plan in Windows for maximum performance

- disabling selective suspend for USB ports / USB devices / T2U Plus card

- testing T2U Plus in different USB ports (USB2.0 and USB 3.0)

- different wireless modes a/n/ac, ac, b/g/n.

- disabling IPv6

What I didn't try yet:

- testing T2U Plus in different PC/Laptop

- testing with different OS / different Win 10 version

- use usb extension cable (USB port overheating theory)

Adapter model: AC600 Archer T2U Plus V1

MOBO: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

OS: Windows 10 Pro (v2004)

Please, help

@Kathy_Z

1. Lets say it is happening every 10-20s. I live in Hotel. Router must be somewhere near me. Signal is great. Like I said before - I don't have any lags and any problems while using my phone's USB Tathering.

2. I'm unable to change it. All options that I have in Advanced settings:

AdaptivityPara - 0,

EnableAdaptivity - Auto,

HLDiffForAdaptivity - 7,

L2HForAdaptivity - Auto,

QoS Support - True,

Roaming Aggressiveness - Disable,

VHT 2.4G IOT - Enable

Wireless Mode - Auto

3. Yes. My girlfriends is sitting near me, playing same game on laptop without any issues. When I'm using USB tathering I also don't have any lags. If I will be able to switch between 2.4Ghz and 5GHz that would be great. Unfortunately I have no idea how to change it.

4. I'm not getting any messages. In Event Log for this device I don't see any errors/warnings. All I can see is that WIFI icon in tray is changing for "Globe" when I have "freeze" in game. After few seconds connection is coming back and I'm dead in game.

5-7. Skipping.

8. Driver version: 1030.29.1102.2017, Date of driver: 18.07.2018

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro N (10.0.19041 Compilation 19041)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 2.70, 21.04.2020
SMBIOS: 2.8
MOBO: B450M MORTAR MAX (MS-7B89)
MOBO Version: 1.0

Adapter was bought in online store. Sealed with foil. New one. Issue started from first minutes of usage. I belive it's Driver issue.

@Masakrator

Update:

Router is located about 4,5m from me. One wall between us.

Like I said before - signal is great, Zero problems while using my Phone with USB Tathering.

@Kathy_Z

1. I'm using WIFI connection. Not mobile data.

2. It's probably ZyXEL NWA1123 AC Pro, dual band.

3. If I'm not playing device is not disconnecting. If I download large files then device might disconnect many times while downloading.

I will try that driver tomorrow.

Hi, unfortunately I don't have time for tests. I will answer in this topic when I test these drivers.

@Masakrator I have the same problem. Router in the same room, tp-link router actually.

It has been the same problem from the start but in the beginning I could both use it for 2.4G and 5G but then the 5G stopped working.

I changed the channel (46) on the router so my ac600 could find the G5. Fixed.

But I can not keep a steady connection on teams or zoom nor when I play online games.

I have tried both 2.4G and 5G.

The speed of my connection is above 150mbs so it should not be a problem.

BUT when I use my phone USB tethering it is not a problem.

I have used the link above for static tplink. It might actually have sped um my connection 10-15% but did not fix the big lag problem.

Please help.

@garmur

What is the model number of the TP-Link router?

This is the latest public driver for the T2U adapter, please try to install it manually on the computer and see if it helps:
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202006/20200601/00015960-RTLWlanU_WindowsDriver_1030.38.0712.2019_Drv_3.00.0032.L.zip

Please remove all the drivers for this adapter on the computer, install the above driver manually: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/920/.

BTW, you may run a Wi-Fi analyzer on the PC to verify which channel is busy and which is clear for the 5G and 2.4G network, then choose a clear channel on the router, change the 2.4G channel width to 40MHz, and 5G to 80MHz on the router, then reboot both the router and the PC to confirm.
