Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5

Hello,

I am new to this forum as I just bought the Archer Ax11000. This is a great device but today I tried to set up expressvpn. Finally, I got support from Expressvpn helpdesk and they "adviced" me to buy another router... Does someone can help or have a solution ?

Thanks in advance,

@Rob.BRU

Hello,

May I know how do you use this Express VPN with the AX11000? If you could describe your network layout in detail, that would be much appreciated.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

I have the same question. I tried to follow this guide:

https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-tp-link-router-with-l2tp/

but it does not work. My AX11000 is connected to another modem, called SAGEMCOM F@ST 3830V3 which then connects to the cable internet socket in the wall.

Can you advise?

@Shrewtonian

As per the link you posted, it seems you are using L2TP connection on the router WAN to link to the ExpressVPN server. While that is one of the WAN connection types provided by the Internet Server Providers, it is not commonly used for connecting to a normal VPN server, which could be encrypted. You can refer to this guide to know more about the settings:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2344/

Archer AX11000 doesn't support VPN Client feature yet, thus you cannot use it to connect to some commonly known VPN servers, such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN. We currently only have Archer AX20, AX21, AX90 supports VPN Client feature, you can refer to the thread below:
