Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1 1.0

hi

All my deco p9 are connected via power line and all of them connected network switch as well

I want to use ethernet backhaul , however network switch goes to loop protection mode.

It must be all decos are connected to powerline and networkswitch via ethernet cable.

When I disable loop protection,  I create a loop in network and , communication is not possible. When I enable loop protection on switch, all deco p9 are using powerline. Ethernet is not used. How to properly set deco p9 to let them use network switch instead of powerline.

I m using latest firmware,  there is no update available when check update.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Ps, I did setup once via powerline , then I moved my house wanted use cat5 and network switch to get better ethernet connectivity between decos instead of powerline.

Hello,

May I have the model number of the switch?

Is your network layout like below?

Modem---main Deco P9 (AP mode or Router mode?)---Switch---2nd P9

                                                                                                  \--3rd P9

Or is it modem---Switch--main P9 (AP modem or Router mode?)

                                     \--2nd P9

                                     \--3rd P9

Please run a simple test bypass the switch and link up the three Deco P9s, then confirm if the Ethernet Backhaul will take effect.

Good day.

@TP-Link_Deco

Modem -- Main p9

| |

| deco p9

|

switch -- deco p9

|_ My PC

|_NAS

This is the setup..

There isn't much setting to prevent loop on deco p9..

Deco is in Ap mode, My switch is TL-SG105E  (TPlink)

Any suggestion

Can I patch all of them directly to modem instead of switch,  using port 1 of deco.. I have one cat5 going to modem location from each room.. Then I attach switch to 2nd port of deco to connect nas,pc and other ethernet devices..?? Like below;İ

Modem -- Main p9

| |

| deco p9

|

-- deco p9

     |_Switch

       |_ My PC

       |_NAS

Or should it like this;

Modem -- Main p9

                   |

                  deco p9

                   |

                  deco p9

                   |_Switch

                         |_ My PC

                          |_NAS

Hello, sorry to respond late.

You may try this layout to give it a go:

Modem -- Main p9

| |

| deco p9

|

-- deco p9

     |_Switch

       |_ My PC

       |_NAS

Good days.
