Hello,

May I know who is your ISP and what kind of modem are you using? Is it a cable modem or DSL modem?

What if you connect your computer to the modem directly, will you be able to connect to your outlook server? If yes, please then connect your computer to this A6 router with an Ethernet cable and confirm again. You may try to do a MAC clone on the A6 web interface:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1556/

Meanwhile, it is suggested to try to change the WAN DNS server on the A6 to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then confirm again.

May it help.

Hello Kevin

Your suggested solution for NAT hit the jackpot!

I confirm, NAT Booster was activated and its disabling let the Outlook work properly again (e.g. successful sync with the mail server)

Just to answer your second part - used VPN is software based (installed in Windows).

Hello

I have exactly the same issue as reported above but changing DNS didn't help in my case (router model Archer C80).

Standard web browsing works well, I am connected via VPN and can access corporate intranet. Also Skype is online and I can speak with my co-workers.

The only failing part is Outlook. It can't connect to corporate mail server and sync mails.

Also changing WLAN to LAN didn't help. Merging both bands (2.4 and 5 GHz) didn't help. Forbidding 5 GHz didn't help.

I used router's system tools and made a ping test (first to google.com - worked well, second to company mail server and that failed)

I did the same ping test from Windows command prompt and was able to get ping response from both - google as well as mail server (see details from my tests below).

*  "mailserver.com" replaices the real mail server name

Ping test in router
1) Google ping

Finding host google.com by DNS server (1 of 2).
Pinging google.com [216.58.201.110] with 64 bytes of data:
Reply from 216.58.201.110: bytes=64 time=16ms TTL=117 (seq=0).
Reply from 216.58.201.110: bytes=64 time=1ms TTL=117 (seq=1).
Reply from 216.58.201.110: bytes=64 time=1ms TTL=117 (seq=2).
Reply from 216.58.201.110: bytes=64 time=1ms TTL=117 (seq=3).
Ping statistics for 216.58.201.110:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss).
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 16ms, Average = 4ms

2) Mail server ping

Finding host mailserver.com by DNS server (2 of 2).
Ping request could not find host mailserver.com.
Please check the name and try again.

Ping test from Windows Command line

Mail server ping

Pinging mailserver.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=28ms TTL=125
Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=125
Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=125
Reply from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=125

Ping statistics for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 28ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 31ms

Means, system (windows) can see the mail server but router fails to do the same.

Also enclosing logs from router (ISP IP replaced with zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz)

@Away

Thank you very much for all the detailed info. As for the mail server service issue, we want to confirm the below details, we hope you could help, thanks:

1. What kind of VPN service are you using on this Windows PC? Is it a VPN software?

2. Please confirm the NAT boost on the C80, is it on or off? You may try to disable it to confirm. You can find it on Advanced-System Tools-System Parameters page.

I confirm, NAT Booster was activated and its disabling let the Outlook work properly again (e.g. successful sync with the mail server)

Hi, glad to hear that it works, you may then leave the NAT boost off to connect to the mail server.

If need any further help, just let us know.

Good day~

@Herin and @Kevin_Z ,

I'm having exactly the same problem on my TP-Link Archer AX20 / 1800.  Outlook for Android works for a while then just stops syncing until I turn Wi-Fi off and work off mobile data.  After turning Wi-Fi back on it will work for a while then stop syncing again.  I tried looking for the NAT boost setting Kevin referred to, but can't find it.

How do I fix this ?

@huddie

Are you also connecting to the Outlook mail server via a VPN connection? Have you tried to change the DNS server on the AX20 to something like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4?

If possible, please kindly drop a detailed network layout, how is the AX20 connected to the network, where is the mail server, etc, then we will confirm if there is any setting we can check on the router.
