Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.7

Hi,

I have Deco M5 and other 2 Deco M4, then I connected my Nvidia Shield into Deco M5, after some minutes Nvidia Shield lost connection and cannot connect anymore unless I restart Nividia Shield.

Is there anyone here saw this issue?

Connecting Nvidia Shield into other router ( not mesh) works fine!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks

I just found in Nvidia forum where you can subscribe to receive the hotfix.

The final update still ongoing but you can download the hotfix after subscribe.

 By the way, disabling the Fast roaming what happens?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

There is no impact on your network when Fast Roaming is disabled, we disable it simply because some special device may not support 802.11r.

For more details about Fast Roaming, you may refer to https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/960.

Good days.

Hello, thanks for reporting this issue to the community.

How about other devices in the network, are they connected to the Deco network fine? Are there 3 Deco M5 and 2 Deco M4 in the same mesh network? Is the main M5 working as a router or an access point?

If it is only the Nvidia Shield (an Android TV, am I right?) that loses the connection, please confirm some details as below:

1. Is the Nvidia Shield connected to the main Deco M5 with an Ethernet cable? It is suggested to confirm the basic settings on the Deco network:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/200398

2. When the Nvidia Shield loses the connection, please confirm if it still gets the correct IP address from the Deco network, what is it?

3. When it loses the connection, is there any error message showing up?

Thanks a lot.

@TP-Link_Deco

Hi

Tks for the answer!

Shield is connected via wifi (when connects)

Other devices works fine!

There is no error, connecting to network takes a long time and can't connect

Fast roaming is enabled, but mesh is disabled for this specific user(shield)

Whats is impact if I disable the fast roaming?

Thanks in advance

Hi, @TP-Link_Deco Disabling the mesh option for the specific device, he connection wifi got stable. Also, I observed that another device wasn't able to connect, so I disabled the Fast roaming and connection worked. So, the question is... disabling the Fast Roaming, what is the impact in my network? Thanks in advance!

@thg

Hi, I just checked my nvidia after a few hours, and the connection was dropped!

So, maybe there is a issue between nvidia shield and deco!

Thanks in advance!
