hello experts

 

My Deco M5 stopped working abruptly today, initial troubleshooting didn;t help, called ISP - they tested my modem is working and a hard-wired connection worked.

but as soon as I remove the ethernet and hook it to DECO and run through the setup - Turns RED and nothing works

 

Its frustating - spent $300 to buy this thinking this will be the right solution , looks like a cheap $40 wireless router would work better? 

 

Any help appreciated

Sorry to hear that you have some difficulties in setting up the Deco M5. We can do further troubleshooting and try to fix it. 

1. What is the current network topology/diagram?

2. With your computer connected to the modem directly, please check whether you can access the internet and the IP address obtained.

3. Try to power cycle the modem and the Deco M5 to give it a go.

 

Besides, here is troubleshooting guidance you can refer to:
