Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20171219 rel.57874(5553)

I just got a Win 10 Dell lappy today. However my happiness is shortlived.

When I try to surf certain websites, it fail to load. Some websites that fail to load are as follows.

  • youtube

  • facebook

  • dailymotion

  • Google Chrome (I can download the installer from the site but the installer cannot download the files to start the installation)

  • Mozilla website

  • msn

Some websites that I can load.

  • dell

  • asiaone

  • vmware

  • news.com

  • bungie

  • bbc.com

  • viu.com

  • reddit.com

  • microsoft

The error message I get from Microsoft Edge is as follows

ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

or sometimes

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

It seems like a DNS issue.

I have tried to following

  • flush DNS; ipconfig /flushdns

  • Using Google DNS as my DNS

  • netsh winsock reset

  • netsh int ip reset

  • reset router (unplug power for 5 mins)

  • disable anti-virus and firewall

I have another 12 devices (PS4, mobile, HP notebook, Smart TV, AV Reeceiver) that uses the same WiFi without any issues.

I try to further test it by bringing the laptop to a public WiFi like Mcdonalds, I can surf all the sites I wanted. No problem.

I have run out of ideas. If any expert here have any advice for me, please let me know.

Appreciate it.

@Kevin_Z

Problem solved. The issue is the WiFi driver on the laptop which is incompatible with the wifi router.

Strange is that the laptop works well with public wifi and my friend's home network.

Hi, how about you connect this Win 10 Dell to your modem directly, will it connect to all the websites fine?

It is suggested to update the driver of the wireless adapter to give it a go.

Good days.
