Archer VR2100 - Randomly reboots several times a day.
Hi,
Had the Arccher Vr2100 a few eeks now and it reboots itself several times during a 24hr period.
Firmware up to date and cannot see and kind of schedules in the settings that would reboot it.
The logs do not show anything obvious.
Do i have a faulty device?

Mine has just crashed again so it leaves me no choice but to swap it out with my old DSL router TP-Link WD9980 for now. My old router has been rebooting once every 2 to 3 days lately hence the reason for buying a new one but I had no idea the new one was going to end up being much worse!! This router has been a complete disappointment and it is also disappointing to not see any communications from TP-Link this week regarding the ongoing reboot issue

Have just bought a VR2100 to replace and Archer C5 1200. Installed Saturday. Have had multiple reboots since setting up. LEDs go out, connection drops and it takes around 3 minutes to reconnect. Have an RE300 Mesh extender too and its set up with Smart Connect as this helps reduce confusion. These are all features which should work out of the box, but it is concerning to read so many users having these rebooting problems. We've had at least 10 since Saturday night (that we know about, there may have been more during the night?).
There must be a solution or the product just isn't fit for purpose.

@Spike1 My solution was to unplug the router and put my original BT one on. These routers in my opinion should be pulled from sale until a solution is found

I wish you best of luck with your new VR2100 DSL router. The router works well when it does work but it isn't without issues (read through this entire forum post for details). Hopefully you will not see the reboot issue that occurs around once a day randomly for many of us on here. Keep an eye on the system uptime of the router as you may not always notice it. I've given up with mine and it will have to go back as it's not fit for purpose in it's current state. I am now starting to suspect a hardware issue is contributing to the reboot/crash issue which may be difficult for TP-LInk to work around, if at all. There also hasn't been enough communication from TP Link to resolve this ongoing issue considering it is such a critical issue. I have just purchased a second hand AVM Fritzbox 7530 DSL router to keep me going until a decent Wi-Fi 6 DSL router comes to the market.

I've upgraded the firmware to the 4th Feb beta version today. Will see how it goes. Had at least 3 reboots just this morning before upgrading.

The latest beta is an improvement but didn't fix the reboot issue for me. Please let us know how you get on with it

Very good stats. I can see no packet loss so your line is not noisy at all so you must be close to the FTTC cabinet. You have ideal conditions for your router and it is still crashing? Not good at all.
