I'm a DIY looking for some guidence, have a small office and home arrangment, (sketch link) just installed two AC1750 routers (replacing aging routers).

  • Set static IP's for all 4 routers, router 1 is DHCP server
    • Was able to access AC1750's via browser/IP, now not able to
  • Router 2 is in access point mode, with static IP, #2 WIFI solid 30MPS
    • Not able to access router from office PC (via browser and IP), clients not shown on router 1
  • Router 3 & 4 have static IP's and solid WIFI at 30MPS
    • Not able to access either 3 or 4 (via browser and IP) clients not shown on router 1

Generally, wired/wireless useability is good, concerned I cant admin access routers in current setup unless wired directly to PC.

Want to replace the two aging routers, hesitant to get the AC1750's again, is there better hardware options, my setup maybe part of issue.

Thoughts and feedback most welcomed!

Hi,

What are the exact model numbers of the AC1750 routers, are they all Archer C7s?

Just to confirm, how do you want to access the router web interface, from those workstations connected to Router 1 to access the web of Router 2/3/4? Is the router 2 working as an access point? Please check and ensure the access point settings on Router 2 are correct, you may change its LAN IP address to be the same IP subnet of Router 1:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1384/  (Case 2)

Please ensure all the LAN IP address of the 4 routers are in the same IP range, for example, all are 192.168.0.x.

Thanks~

Yes - prefer to manage/admin LAN and components from office/workstation 1

Is the router 2 working as an access point? Please check and ensure the access point settings on Router 2 are correct, you may change its LAN IP address to be the same IP subnet of Router 1:

Router 1 Archer A7 AC1750 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0 DHCP Server
Router 2 Archer A7 AC1750 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0

Access Point Mode

Router 3 Netgear 192.168.0.3 255.255.255.0 DHCP Off
Router 4 Netgear 192.168.0.4 255.255.255.0 DHCP Off

  • The admin access to router 2 from workstation 1 is inconsitent, sometimes can log into it (this morning) and sometimes can not (last night spinning wheel of "connecting") death...multiple attemps.
  • No access to routers 3 & 4, unless direct connect PC to router.
  • Clients (wired and wireless) connected to routers 2-4 are inconsistent and incomplete.
  • All clients have stable access into any router, although it is the inconsisent management mode that is concerning.
  • Maybe access point mode is not ment to be in middle of daisy chain?

Hi, you may refer to the link I sent to you previously to reconfigure the Router 2 to an access point by disabling the DHCP on it and connect Router 1 to its LAN port:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1384/ (Case 2)

If this still doesn't help, please verify again if you can ping Router 2/3/4 on office/workstation 1, ensure there is no IP conflict in the network. You may connect a PC A to Router 1 directly, connect PC B to Router 2 directly and do a ping test.

Thanks a lot.
