Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I just installed by X60 mesh today (moved from Google Wifi) -- and I have found a major issue/missing feature...  Or maybe I am just overlooking how to accomplish what I need to do??

Is there a way to make the X60 assign IP addresses from the other "home" ranges?  10.x.x.x. 172.x.x.x 192.x.x.x should all be valid for use in private networks.

For me, I work remotely and the VPN connection I use assigns IPs in the 192.x.x.x range -- so I lose local connectivity what connected to the office.  On my last router, I used IPs in the 172.x.x.x range and had zero issues.  Yes, I know the VPN server should be configured better so that it does not capture all 192.x.x.x traffic, but I tried to get them to fix that for years before just moving my own network range.

Hopefully there is a way to enable more than just 192.168.68.x thru 192.168.71.x??

Thanks!

David

Hello,

What is the LAN IP address settings on your Deco app? You may change the IP subnet to a customized one or the build-in 255.255.0.0 on the More-Advanced-LAN IP address page.

May it help.

Thank you for the reply -- I was able to make it work!

The steps are not abundantly obvious, so I figured I would share here in case someone else has the same issue/question.

1st, when you try to change the DHCP IP Pool, it will show an error specifying a limited range of available IPs to assign.  What I did not realize at first is that this range is based on whatever is set for your LAN IP address & Mask.

Steps to set a custom DHCP range:

- change LAN IP address to IP that you would like (172.19.69.1 in my case).

- delete existing Reservations

- change DHCP Server range as desired

- recreate any required reservations

So far, it seems to be working perfectly.

Thanks again for the nudge in the right direction!

David
