Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.0.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 170926 Rel.63400n

I have a Brother HL-2240D connected to the USB port of the Archer C3150. I installed the TP-LINK USB Printer Controller on Windows but it didn't find any printers even though the printer is detected by the router. According to the official documentation (https://static.tp-link.com/resources/compatible/Print-Server/Print_Server_Compatibility_List_160804.pdf), it should have worked. Why is it not detected?

@Kevin_Z

I restarted my computer and restarted the application. It looks like this time I has detected the printer. Thanks for reaching out.

After I installed the drivers, it didn't detect the drivers correct drivers. I had to first auto-connect using `Fax`. Then delete the auto-connected printer and re-create the auto-connect setting. Only then I saw the correct driver. Someone else had a similar problem and their solution worked for me: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/168088.

Hello,

What's the operating system of your computer? Is it possible to try on a different computer?

When the printer is connected to the USB port on the C3150, does the light show up? How about change the C3150 to router mode?

@DennisS Hi have the same problem. I'm using TP Link w8970 with Canon IP1700. I restart the windows, doesn't change anything. Everytime i turn on TP Link Printer Controller software, my laptop was making that connect usb and disconnect usb notification sound. The notification sound goes back and forth with nothing showing on the printer controller display.

@DennisS

Thanks this does work. I think when it prints to fax the printer driver kicks in somehow to allow actual printer to be recognized later
