Device not connecting to the nearest/fastest Deco M5
Hi,
I recently purchased 2 units of Deco M5. I live in a 1860 sq.ft apartment. Both the Decos are present in the same floor. I see that my devices are NOT connected to the closest Deco and connected to the farthest Deco most of the times. This causes a considerable reduction in speed and it defeats the very purpose of installing a mesh.
To TP-Link R& D Team - Either improvise your algorithm to find the nearest Deco and connect seemlessly or let the user select the Deco M5 unit to which the device has to get connected to.
Please provide me with any known solution/workaround to overcome this issue temporarily.
Rgds,
Priya

@TP-Link My network I am experencing this same behavior. I have two Deco's about 40' apart in seperate buildings on my property. My Raspberry Pi 4 perfers to connect to my (office) deco about 60' away instead of the deco about 10' away from it. Signal strength is about 1 bar and can't get over 50k download speed on it. Can I test the beta firmware?

@fbal hi. Did you get hold of the beta FW? I'm very frustrated by this issue too. Most devices are connecting to my main 'living room' node despite then being closer to one of the other two nodes.
my main issue is trying to run my Sonos speakers. Regardless of their placement in the house they all connect to the main node making that node very data heavy, whilst the other two nodes have one or no clients connected.

Hi,we have beta firmware that could help satellite Deco to find the best uplink Deco and optimize its signal source.
If you are interested, please leave me a private message;
Thank you.
