@TP-Link

still a few questions

1. Why is the version 1.5.1 while the current version is 1.5.3 x

2 when is the 1.6 released

3 when is the beta of 1.6 released.

4 The new version is not an enhancement on the current problem

@TP-Link can the beta software be used for other units? I have a system of 3 that all came together but I'm not sure what one I actually have.

I have one router and two access points in a 1250 square foot apartment but my Nintendo switch will not move between access points.

I can manually connect to the closest Network but it won't go on its own somebody mentioned adjusting RSSI settings to make them lower so that it would force the device into roaming but I can't find those settings in my app.

I'm attaching an image of the devices and software versions I'm using. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and I'd be happy to try out the beta software if it is compatible with my devices.

@KDidde

Hi, Currently, there is no beta firmware that could force the device to roam to the closest Deco units for Deco M4;

And it is planned to allow manually selecting the closest Deco for devices to connect;

As for the Nintendo Switch, if it does not support the 802.11r protocol, it would ignore the roaming request sent by Deco and fail to roam between access points;

For more details, please refer to this link:

Thank you.

@TP-Link Then, I have to ask just what is "roaming".  The descriptions, in your ads, certainly imply that your device will switch to the nearest device as you move around.

@TP-Link Have installed 1.5.1 firmware as suggested in this thread but devices then immediately updated to 1.5.3.  Does this still have the network mapping improvements as it has regrettably not fixed this issue for me. :(

@NBrx

Hi, there is a beta firmware 1.6.0 which added the feature to manually select the signal source.

But it could not be downgraded to 1.5.x firmware.

So if you want to try the 1.6.0 firmware, please have a check of your private message.

Thank you.

@TP-Link the firmware that will supposedly allow us to choose source deco was announced here back in January. It has been over 6 months with no developments? Hope you can shed some info as to when the official firmware update will be released.

@TP-Link

I know this thread is about the M5... I recently purchased the DecoX20 but I also have the same issue of my 3rd note deciding to connect to the main deco instead of the one that is closest to it. When can I expect a firmware update on the DecoX20 that sorts this issue too?
