our computers work on ethernet cables. 

My ipad doesn't receive wifi signal upstairs, so we bought the tp-link range extender TL-WA85ORE to access it.

The LED light has successfully come on as a solid light.

The extension name comes up correctly on my ipad

It will not accept our routers password though.

Any suggestions, please

Sorry for the delay.

Did you set up the 850RE via WPS button?

If yes, please try to reset it and set up via Tether APP or web interface, such as

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1373/

Thanks, we did set it up via the WPS button. Don't have access to the Tether App so will have to reset it and try again via the computer. Thanks for the advice
