Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version:

Hi all

I bought the TL-WA850RE to extend the wifi in my shop. I have successfully paired is as per manual by WPS with my main router. Internet works fine when ethernet cable is plugged into the bottom of the unit.

When I try to connect any wifi device, using the same key as the main router it says its invalid.

I have had a look in the settings of the Extender, where it shows the wifi key its 3 lines long, but the key on my router is about 6 characters. What is this all about? I have tried entering this massive key into the device but it doesnt have enough room to enter them all.

Firmware updated to the latest on the website also.

Please advise..

Thanks

@shawzy000

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Have you tried to reset the extender and set up again via Tether APP, or web interface, not the WPS button?

Since we used to get some feedback when pushing the WPS button, router would randomly generate a pair of passwords for the extender, which would cause the current issue.

Thanks a lot.
