Weird Poblem with my TD-8951ND

Region : Malaysia
Model : TD-W8951ND
Hardware Version : V5
Firmware Version : 5.0.0 Build 120522 Rel.23978
ISP : tmnet streamyx 512
Im experiencing a weird problem with my new modem/ router.
If i connect using my laptop from a short distance (Good signal strength) it is fine.
But if i connect from a floor away, (poor 1-2 bar signal), the router will reset. The 4 Lan led flashes. Wifi led turn off, ADSL and internet turn off.
Then it reconnects only to reset again.
The problem doesnt seem specific to my laptop. My sister's ipad seem to trigger a reset too.
I already updated my laptop wifi (Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
) driver, turn off all power saving feature related to wifi and my router firmware is the latest.
This model's signal range sucks btw...

I already tried tweaking most of the settings. Im the only router running on my channel.
Anyway, i decided its the range/strength of the wireless that is causing problems.
Even if i sit right next to it and pull higher bandwidth (~60kb/s) it will reconnect.
Doesnt happen with wired LAN

so i took it back to the vendor. They said it was faulty and exchanged it for a new one.
The new one is working fine so far.

If resetting the modem, changing the channel and wireless security type still cannot make the modem working fine again, you can replace it with a new one.
