Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.5.0 0.9.1 v006c.0 Build 200710 Beta.50656n

Hi

I continue to get random, phantom disconnects on my VR2800.  I am referring to them as phantom as the 2800 does not appear to actually disconnect.  Here is the scenario:

Device connected to 2800 will stop responding on a web site/app. If on my iPhone, a message will pop up saying It appears TP-Link XXX is not connected to the Internet. There is then a button choice to keep trying WiFi or use 4g. If I am on a LAN connected device, the web page will not load and I get the standard error message on the browser that the site cannot be reached.

When this happens, the LEDs on the 2800 are unchanged. When I login to the router, the Basic tab Status says Disconnected. When I click on the Advanced tab and scroll down, it says Connected. Click back to the Basic tab and it now says Connected. The DSL uptime on the Advanced tab does not reset when this happens, which is again why I am calling these disconnects phantom.

After a short while (max 1 minute) the connection resumes.

This has now happened on a brand new VR2800 I just purchased, so I assume not hardware.

I am on BT FTTC.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jeff

@Jeff2020

The disconnect happened this morning to I looked at the router log and it shows

HTTPD Information DNS 2001:4860:4860::8844 resolve timeout for dns.msftncsi.com

HTTPD Information DNS 2001:4860:4860::8888 resolve timeout for dns.msftncsi.com

I have read this is Windows or the router checking it is connected to the Internet.  Is this an issue or just a random bug that happens from time to time?

Thanks
