I replace my virgin router for a New virgin router to upgrade the WiFi, it is a VMDG505. Tether app unable to detect the device. Unable to determine if the device compatible.

Hello, may I have the model number of the TP-Link router, you may find it on its bottom label.

 

Please check the Tether compatibility list and ensure it is compatible with the Tether app:

https://www.tp-link.com/tether/product-list/

 

If it is compatible with the Tether app, while it cannot be detected, please confirm the below:
1. Make sure the smartphone is connected to the TP-Link host wireless network.
2. Make sure the router is running the latest firmware.
3. Turn off the VPN software on your phone if you have one.
4. Reboot the router or restart the Tether app.
