Oh dear ... WiFi 5 or WiFi 6?
I am a complete nerd on this subject... and contemplating to buy a Deco Mesh system for at home (better coverage and performance). Even though I do not have many WiFi 6-able devices, I always think that you should prepare for the future, so the X60 is my 'preferred option'.
However, if I read reviews from various sites, it strikes me that the throughput of the X60 is average. So I am now looking at the M9 Plus as well. But ... it is WiFi 5.
Can somebody help me with some tips/advice? Thanks!

@tijssens Deco X60 Though Latest but is Dual Band thus It does not have a dedicated band for back haul, whereas M9 Plus is Tri Band and 3rd Band is a dedicated wireless back haul, so M9 will give you much better performance considering most devices in your network will WiFi 5 , if you have the option to use Ethernet cables as back haul then you can go for x60 and be future ready.
or
If you have sometime then you can wait for the launch of x90 which is both wifi 6 and tri band.

Hi, thanks for asking.
As we all know that Wi-Fi 6 is the newest version of the 802.11 standard for wireless network transmissions up til now and it will give you better and faster speed, we currently only have Deco X60, X20 and X90 support it.
While as you mentioned Deco M9 Plus is a quite stable and reliable system, which would be a good choice also. It is actually up to you and only you can make the decision. Or you may wait to see if others can give you some suggestions.
Good days.

@jthcomputers Thanks! I think I'll wait for the X90. Was not aware of its 'existence'.

I am assuming your Internet connection speed is 500 Mbit or more, because if it less, WiFi 6 might not give you any benefits over WiFi 5.
It also depends if you are heavy professional user moving gigabytes after gigabytes of files through your home network and to/from Internet, or your WiFi needs are limited by few smartphones, tablets, and big screen TV downloading videos in 4K - which would be an average user. WiFi 6 is a must for professional user.
If you are going with WiFi 6. Looking at current TP-Link WiFi 6 mesh specs, definitely skip X20 unless all your Decos will be cable wired. You can try X60 if you have average user networking needs and definitely wait till X90 if your budget can afford it, you expect heavy internet usage now or in the next few years, and have at least Gigabit Internet connection.
