Model: Archer VR600  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0.2.0.0.9.1 v0074.0 build 170504 (latest)

I've setup PPTP VPN

 

(Can only have 1 user account ??)

 

OK so IP address of Router 192.168.99.1  - my PC 192.168.99.226 and 192.168.99.225 and my NAS 192.168.99.220

User Default 10.7.0.11 - 20

 

So I setup VPN Client in Windows and when connected remotely from my notebook the IP given is 10.7.0.11 with subnet mask of 255.255.255.255 default gateway 0.0.0.0

 

No way to change this

 

I can ping 192.168.99.1 - Router IP when connected from Remote

 

But I can't access anything else!

ie. my PC vai RDP or my NAS home page

 

I'm not IT expert but have used PPTP VPN to work

 

Documents cover setting up the Router and PC VPN but I'm not sure if I need to configure anything else

 

Subnet 255.255.255.255 would gives me access to that 1 IP,  right ?

do I need to setup any Routing

 

I did try adding 10.7.0.30 to Router as 2nd IP

 

Any ideas welcome

 

BTW: Went for PPTP for simplicity I know it not as secure as other types

For your case, could you please help us check the following information:

  1. Are you able to access the PC via remote desktop and NAS server in the local LAN？
  2. Have you tried to turn off the firewall on the computers and NAS server?
  3. Are you able to ping the two laptops and NAS server from PPTP client?
  4. If possible, could you please try to open a port for the NAS server temporally, then test whether you are able to access the NAS server via port forwarding, instead of the VPN?

Yes,

I can access NAS on the LAN and RDP is enabled

I have opened a Port to access one of the PC via RDP - this works.

 

I've attached a Word document with settings

 

I can access the Router and Ping it on 192.168.99.1 when connected via VPN

Home Lan is 192.168.99.x

PC at home on 192.168.99.225 - can't ping it

 

I've tried changing IP of PC / NAS to 192.168.1.225, 226 etc - that didn't work either

(these are not on the local LAN at work so no conflict)

 

My LAN is 192.168.1.x at work so I've changed the settings for VPN IP range to 192.168.81 - 89

Can't PING anything other than 192.168.1.81 when connected (and 192.168.99.1 Router)
