New Archer C80 - Unstable WIFI.
Hello guys!
I bought the new Archer C80 v1. Amazing router if my wifi was not very unstable. I am IT specialist and I have tried any kind of setting with no success to solve this issue.
My place is very small and except for my baby camera which is not 5 ghz compatible, I just use 5 ghz band and ethernet.
The issue is my cellphone and my wife's one (Galaxy s10+ and Galaxy s9+ using only 5 ghz band) keeps disconnecting without any error msg. The wifi just stops to respond and I need to turn off and on many times per day. My whole apartment has maxed wifi signal with this router (as I said, small place).
I had an Archer C5 before and upgraded to this C80. Never happened with the C5. The C5 problem is the weak signal, so I upgrade. I am happy except for that very annoying bug.
What is going on with this router guys??
Thanks.

Hi, thank you very much for your detailed reply.
Can you please reset the C80 to factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch, then monitor again? If this still doesn't help, please try to connect both the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S9+ to the 5GHz again, confirm if they both lose the connection at the same time, try to ping the C80 and www.google.com when there is no internet, and show us the ping result.
Just to verify, how often does this disconnection issue happen?
Good day.

Hello,
Thank you for posting on the TL-Link Community. To better assist you, please provide us with the below information:
1. Do you mean the wired connection and 2.4GHz connection is stable, is only the 5GHz not stable? Can you please check if the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S9+ are running the latest Android version? Is there any other wireless devices that can connect to the 5GHz network? When the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S9+ disconnected from the network, are they still showing connected to the 5GHz network, are they able to get a valid IP address then?
2. As per your description, you should have already tried to modify the wireless settings on the C80, may I know what is the current channel and channel width for the 5GHz? How about the wireless security? Please ensure the wireless security is on WPA2-PSK/AES.
3. Try to reset the C80 to factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch to give it a shot.
Have a nice day.

Hello!
1- Wired connection is stable. 2.4 I barely use it, so I can't answer with 100% sure.
Yes, both phones are running the last android version.
No, the other devices are on ethernet.
Yes, they still appear connected with no error message.
Yes, they are.
2- I changed it yesterday again...
channel is 48 and channel width is auto right now. Security is WPA2 and AES.
3- I never tried that with that router yet.
Thanks.

@IronRush Hello, I have the same problem : my wifi is not stable neither on 2,4G, neither on 5G neither on smart phone Huawai P20 lite, neither on laptop hp. On 2,4 is little better, nut not at all good.
i tested on more chanel and width => the same results for 5G, but better on 2,4G
what do you mean by configuration from scratch?

You just need to do what Kevin said. Just update your firmware (if has one) and do a factory reset. After the reset your configurations will change to default and you will need to reconfigure the router. My problem is 100% fixed.
