Model: Archer VR400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:0.6.0 0.9.1 v0070.0 Build 200713 Beta.34548n

Hi, I renamed my SSIDs to make it easier to select between 2.4 & 5GHz bands. As soon as I renamed the 5GHz SSID, the 5GHz wifi signal became unavailable. I tried various tweaks to recover the signal including upgrading to the latest firmware release.  I discovered that the 5GHz band will only work when channel bandwidth is set to 40MHz, all other bandwidth settings will negatively affect the 5GHz wifi signal. This appears to be a SW fault. Is there a fix available, maybe a newer firmware release containing a fix ?

This is a relatively old product and should have stable SW.

cheers !

@mgilmar

Good day,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

May I know where are you located and how long have you had the VR400

When you said the 5ghz Wi-Fi signal is unavailable, did you mean the Wi-Fi signal would disappear?

And if the channel width of 5ghz was set to auto, and channel to be 36/48, would the 5ghz signal become much stable, did not disappear?

Thanks a lot.
