TP-Link AX20 Unknown Predefined 1.0.0.0/8 Route.
Hi TP-Link,
My AX20 Hardware Version is 1.2.
I encountered problem to ping or use 1.1.1.1 DNS after connected to Internet.
I found that the predefined route for 1.0.0.0/8 to gw 0.0.0.0 via WAN Interface.
That's why I cannot use 1.1.1.1 DNS at all.
Why there is predefined static route in the router AX20?
and the public IP to gw 0.0.0.0 via Interface INTERNET routing also should not be there..
is this a bugs?
Please find the image below for the active routing table.
Please help.

Hi, sorry respond late. This 1.0.0.0/8 seems assigned automatically by your ISP, what I assume this would be related to Unifi IPTV or something, you are suggested to confirm this with Unifi support, I think they can help answer this.

hi, this 1.0.0.0/8 route is not happen every time, it randomly happens after I off and on the router.
But most of the time, the 1.0.0.0/8 route will be there. I have to create a static route override it.. it is very troublesome for that.
I have already done the factory reset a few times. Problem still exist.
I checked with other users that using AX20, they do not face any issues on that.
I do not have this problem when I used my existing WiFi Router TP-Link Archer A6.
Can you guys file a case for this and come out the solution in the next firmware release?
Thanks.

Hello, thanks for getting back. Do you use the previous A6 with Unifi as well and use the same configuration? Is others also using Unifi on the AX20?

Hi, yes..
Unifi profile in Archer A6 with same configuration.
other AX20 user also using Unifi.
I configured the Internet Connection Mode to On Demand with 0 Minutes.
One of the person from Lowyat.net forum, he got same problems while using this configuration, after he change to Auto, the issues resolved.
He asked me to change to Auto and try it.
I will go back home tonight and try on it..
Will update you again...

I found the bugs.
Internet connection mode by default is set as Auto mode.
It is because I changed the Network > Internet Settings > Connection Mode from "Auto" to "On Demand (0 Minutes)"
After someone told me in the Lowyat.net forum, this is a bug. Have to use Connection Mode "Auto"
If the connection mode in "On Demand" and DNS configured to use 1.1.1.1, it will cause the 1.0.0.0/8 route auto added in the routing table.
After I changed back to Connection Mode "Auto", I rebooted the WiFi router 10 times and also never saw the 1.0.0.0/8 route in the routing table.
Can you let me know what the meaning of Connection Mode Auto is? Will the Internet connection drop randomly in Auto mode?
Kindly please raise this bug to your internal technical team. This happens in the AX20 model.
And get this fix in the next firmware release.

Hi, thanks for updating. While we may need your help to analyze this issue as we still think this is related to the specific ISP in your network, and we are not able to reproduce this in our local network.

as I what know, ISP will not enforce the static route to TP-Link router.
The one who make the dial up internet connection is TP-Link router.
If your environment is using Unifi, you can try the same settings as mine.
Thanks.
