My current setup has 2 pc's, 1 Mac and 2 Ethernet connected hubs hardwired to my Netgear R7000 (all in the same office).  Everything else in my house is Wifi. I just ordered the M4 and to try to solve the issue myself I ordered a TP-Link 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch which I am thinking I would connect to the Gigabit ethernet port on the M4 and use that to expand the ports
 

Thinking about it more - if I were to connect the M4 to one of the Netgear Gigabit Ethernet ports would that also accomplish the same outcome? If so I would just turn off the Wifi from the Netgear and use it as a Switch. 

If I am on the wrong path here, can you please explain how can I replicate the 5 needed Ethernet ports using the M4?

Then, you don't need extra switch. Assuming you plan to run Deco M4 in AP (Access Point) mode, you could connect Main Deco M4 to one of Netgear ports, and PC or Mac to second M4 port. 

 

Because M4 is configured as router by default, I suggest you complete initial configuration first, switch Deco to AP mode and only then connect PC/Mac to Deco, the one you had to disconnect from Netgear to free Ethernet port for M4.

Good day!

The pervious connection map is:

ISP----> Netgear R7000(LAN 1-5)---> 2 pc, 1 Mac and 2 Ethernet connected hubs;

And now you wish to replace the current connection like the following?

ISP----> Netgear R7000(with Wi-Fi off)—Deco M4—5 port switches--2 pc, 1 Mac and 2 Ethernet connected hubs

Or

ISP----> Netgear R7000(with Wi-Fi off)—Deco M4

                                                            \5 port switches

 

And If Deco M4 is on the access point mode, it would accomplish the same outcome.

@TP-Link If I am keeping the Netgear I don't need the 5 port switch - is that right?

According to specs from Internet, R7000 has 4 LAN ports and 1 WAN port. You seem to have 5 devices connected to R7000, is there a typo somewhere?

@Alexandre. actually YES - dang it! 

Set up is 2 PC's, 1 mac and 1 ethernet hub

 

All I need is a total of 4 Ethernet connections
