Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.6

Hi,

I've recently bought TP-LINK Archer C6(EU) with firmware 1.3.5 version installed.
I've updated firmware to 1.3.6. The router worked just fine but after few hours it stopped working fine suddenly.
It started to work very unstable.

First it started to loose WIFI connection with Samsung Galaxy A50 working under Android 10 with the latest software updates from SAMSUNG installed. Switching WIFI off/on on the smartphone helped.

Later lost connection scenario was observed on ACER laptop.
With this case, doing nothing... helped. Internet connection has been restored by itself.

Later it happened with my ASUS laptop working under MS Windows 10 with the latest updates from Microsoft.
The laptop has Realtek 8821CE Wireless Lan 802.11ac PCI-E NIC wireless adapter on board.
The laptop was located around 1 meter from Archer C6. No solid obstacles between laptop and Archer. Both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz are not over crowded.
Out of the blue, the laptop has been disconnected from the internet without the possibility to connect to the WIFI network broadcasted by Archer C6 again.

I tried many different scenarios with my laptop including: resetting my network settings, re-installing / updating / downgrading drivers for my wireless adapter of the laptop.
I have also tried to change all known settings on Archer C6 like e.g separating 2.4GHz from 5GHz, playing with channels on 2.4Ghz/5GHz, increasing/decreasing channel width, etc. I did all the magic. It did not help.

The only thing which helped was switching the Archer C6 off/on.

After this I was able to connect to the network and my laptop worked at full speed again.
I turned the laptop off. After turning it on, the laptop was unable to connect to the WIFI network broadcasted by Archer C6.

And again, the only thing which helped was switching the Archer C6 off/on.
After this I was able to connect to the network and my laptop worked at full speed again.

Assuming that this is an issue with Archer C6 firmware version 1.3.6, I downgraded it to 1.3.5.
After I did it, I was able to connect my laptop to WIFI and currently it is working more or less fine, but not disconnecting and allowing to connect to the WIFI.

However, while I did speed test check recommended by my ISP I observed strange thing.
For a few seconds my laptop worked at full speed (~120 Mbps) given by ISP and then it immediately drops to 0 Mbps and immediately increased to full speed again. I did this test few times and it has happened again several times, but not always.

What is the problem?
Are there any knows issues with Archer C6 not working properly with some types of wireless adapters?

Please advise.

I think about giving my Archer back to retailer as I am a little bit tired to play with firmware back and forth.

EDITED:

Downgrading to firmware 1.3.5 did not help. My ASUS laptop can not connect to WIFI after switching it on today.

Archer C6 goes back to retailer...

@cayc

May I have the detailed network layout/diagram, how is the Archer C6 connected to the modem or other routers?

How about the wired and 2.4G connection of the C6, are they both stable?

If only the 5G disconnects, please try to modify the 5G wireless settings on the C6, such as changing the wireless channel to 36/4/44/48, change channel width to 40MHz, then reboot the C6 to confirm.

BTW, how many devices are connected to the C6 5G, are they all experiencing the same disconnect at the same time?
