I have set this up ojn a number of occasions, but wireless does not go off/on as per the schedule - the only way to control it is by pressing the wifi on/off button.

Is there a Wi-Fi Schedule option on your A7 web interface? If there is one, it should support it.
If the router doesn't switch the Wi-Fi off at the scheduled time, please firstly check and ensure the router system time is correct, you may check it as below:
