Sorry to respond late.
May I know the operating system of your computer? Is it a Windows 10? Please check on the network adapters and see how many drivers have you installed for this adapter, if there are different drivers, remove all of them and install it from the Windows. Go to Device Manager -> Right Click the Adapter (It should be in yellow ! mark if you removed all the drivers) -> Update Driver -> Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer -> Install the "driver provided by Microsoft" (the newest one depends on the version of Windows 10). Once the installation is successful and with no errors, then confirm again if the connection is stable.
BTW, what is the model number of the router? You can also try to change the wireless settings on the router, such as channel and channel width. If you are connecting to the 5G network, try to change the 5G channel to 36/40/44/48, channel width to 40MHz, then reboot the router and reconnect to the network on the computer to confirm.
Could you please help me check the system info and driver info on the computer if the issue persists, such as https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2722/.

@Kevin_Z I have a similar problem on Windows 10. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, restarted routers and extenders in the house, replaced router with a new router and restarted that one too. When I look for drivers to install on my pc it only recommends the one from TP-Link, there's no driver from Microsoft for the adapter (as far as I can see) should I try with one of the generic options?

Yes, you can try to install the latest public driver:
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202006/20200601/00015960-RTLWlanU_WindowsDriver_1030.38.0712.2019_Drv_3.00.0032.L.zip
Please check on the network adapters and see how many drivers have you installed for this adapter, if there are different drivers, remove all of them and install it from the Windows.
Then install the driver manually:
