Archer AX50 keeps changing wifi channel
Hi,
My AX50 is having some strange problem. In 5Ghz, the router just changes the chanel by itself, from 48 (that I've set) to 149 (???). When it happens, my Wifi connect just hangs, and I have to access the router settings, change the chanel (it keeps showing the chanel 48 in settings, but it's actually transmiting in 149) and then my Wifi comes back to life.
Here is my settings and router firmware:
OFDMA: ON
SMART CONNECT: OFF
Transmit Power: High
MIMO: ON
Channel Width: 160Mhz
Channel: 48
Hardware Version: Archer AX50 v1.0
Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 20200708 rel.55037
Any ideas how to fix that?
Thanks

Do you mean the channel will switch to 149 automatically when you choose 48 manually?
How about try other channels, such as 44 or 36? Will it also be switched to 149 automatically?
Can you please try to reset the AX50 to the factory then reconfigure it to confirm this?

It doesn't happen instantly. It takes some time until the channel changes to 149 (sometimes half hour, sometimes a couple hours), but yes, it happens without any interaction, automatically.
I've tried to set 44 once, but the problem happened the very same way.
I'll try to do a factory reset right now, and will come back with a feedback in a day or two (or sooner, if the problem happens again in the meantime).
Thanks for replying!!

I did a factory reset and then I set the router's 5G the same way it was (160Mhz - 44 channel).
Even doing everything you said, the problem stills happening.
My settings:
After rebooting, the channel went back to 44.
It's kinda strange, because I don't even have the option to select this channel at 160Mhz.
When the channel jumps to 149, my connection drops drastically, to a speed about 0 to 1 Mbps. Just when it goes back to the channel I set (36, 44, 48, or any other), my speed goes back to normal too.

This sounds wield, are the band 4 channels not allowed in your area?
If the hardware reset doesn't help either, please try to confirm this with the local tech support to see if they can help with a replacement, just in case there is any unknown hardware issue on this specific unit.
Thanks a lot.
