Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.2 Build 20180118 rel.38979 (EU)

Hi,

I'm trying to enable my usb disk accessible from the internet but it dos not allow me to access from outside of my local network

I have IP for internet 192.168.1.131.

I requested from my ISP to give me static IP:PORT available for file sharing (I've got 1.2.3.4:11000)

From my ISP I received information that IP 1.2.3.4:11000 is fowarded directly to my router 192.168.1.131:11000.

I connected my USB drive to the router and can see this

1. WORKS:

- Method: Network Neighborhood:

- Link: \\my_shared_name

- Port: ---

-- this is working when I type \\my_shared_drive and insert my credentials (login/password)

2. WORKS:

- Method: FTP

- Link: ftp://192.168.0.1:21

- Port: 21

-- this is working as well when I tried access it from my local network using ftp client with the link ftp://192.168.0.1:21 and login/password credentials

3. NOT WORKING:

- Method: FTP

- Link: ftp://192.168.1.131:11000

- Port: 11000 (this I set manually)

-- the connection is fine when I'm on the different network and enter ftp://1.2.3.4:5678 into ftp client I received two messages

1. Login OK

2. Could not enter folder /

-- event if I shared any subfolder from the disk, still the error 'could not enter fodler /' appears

Can you please point me what I'm doing wrong as it seems that

- the ISP IP address forwarding is working

- the login/password credentials are workiing as well

- only cannot read the folders on the USB disk

Thanks,

Michal

@miso_miso

192.168.1.131 is the WAN IP address on the Archer C1200? While 1.2.3.4 is the actual IP address that your ISP gave you? You may need to confirm with your ISP if there is any firewall or FTP ALG settings on the modem, try to disable those for you.
