Hello I have just installed a new RE305 AC1200. It worked by I was surprised however to see that I get a 2nd network. Which means that I need two switch various devices between two wifi networks, the main one and the extended one, as I change rooms... I was hoping to have only one. Is this ok, and is there any way around? thanks!

@IC1

Good day,

Yes, it is ok to set up the same SSID for both router and RE305.

Please refer to the following link:

1. connect to the current SSID of RE305 and log in via http://tplinkrepeater.net

2. then go to settings>wireless> extended network to change the SSID;

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

many thanks!

it seems to work.

However, as after the change I no longer see the RE305 SSID separately, I am wondering how do I get access to its settings (if ever needed).

thanks again

Ion

@IC1

Hi, when they are on the same SSID, RE305 could still be controlled by the APP or the web address.

But you could need to get closer to the RE305 and make sure you are conned to its network.

Thank you very much.
