Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.16 Build 20201030 rel.55736(4555)

Hello,

I have

    Archer C7 - V5 (AC1750 - Not in the model list fot the thread creation)

   1.0.16 Build 20201030 rel.55736(4555)

I recently find out that the WiFi connection is very slow. If I do WiFi to wire I reach about 100Mbps. But If I do WiFi <-> WiFi I barely reach 20Mbps. The CPU load on the WiFi router is about 80% when the test is running. There was a recent Firmware upgrade. Not sure if that could be related.  Also wire wire is just 400Mbps instead of 1Gbps.

PS: Both devices are very close to the device and both of them report

wlp0s20f3  IEEE 802.11  ESSID:"roluhop"
          Mode:Managed  Frequency:5.18 GHz  Access Point: B0:BE:76:77:D5:7A
          Bit Rate=866.7 Mb/s   Tx-Power=22 dBm
          Retry short limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Power Management:on
          Link Quality=70/70  Signal level=-40 dBm
          Rx invalid nwid:0  Rx invalid crypt:0  Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:22   Missed beacon:0

Any idea what is happening there?

@Kevin_Z Hi, thanks for replay.

You are right it is there, but you have to type the name there. If you just click on it it is not in the list. I ha modified that. Thanks.

I did the test through the netcat

PC1:

    # if=/dev/zeto | pv| nc 192.168.0.xxx: 8080

PC2:

   # nc -l 8080 >dev/null

I have figured out the problem. There is an driver issue for Intel WiFi cards in Linux kernel with TSO. So I temporarily disable the offloading

    # sudo ethtool -K wlp0s20f3 tso off

and I was able to reach over 500Mbps.

Thanks again

Roman

@Roman_H

Can you explain in more detail that how did you test this WiFi <-> WiFi or the WiFi to wire speed? By transferring files between two Wi-Fi devices?

BTW, the model Archer C7 is available from the dropdown, you may confirm:
