Model: TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: ?

My device TL-WDR4300 supposedly supports 5ghz band connections but when I connect with my vr headset it only shows 2.4ghz. When following an online tutorial it tells me to change the setting in the wireless tab but my http://192.168.0.1/ shows no wireless tab nor does it let me change the desired setting somewhere else, and on the browser tab it says TL-ER6120, which also supports 5ghz, if thats of any help. The display on the front that indicates the 5ghz connection is always off as well.
How do I solve this.

Have you tried to reset the WDR4300 to factory defaults and reconfigure it from scratch, then confirm if you can modify the wireless settings on it?

How many TP-Link device do you have in total in the network? Are there a TL-WDR4300 and a ER6120? If you only have a TL-WDR4300, please connect a computer to the WDR4300's LAN port, then confirm what is the IP address you can get on the computer as below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/62/

If the gateway is 192.168.0.1, try to type this in the address bar of a browser on this computer, check if you can see the login window:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1931/

Once login, you may go to Wireless settings tab to check if you can find the 5G settings, try to enable it. While if I didn't understand it wrong, you cannot enable the 2.4G and 5G at the same time, that means you will lose the 2.4G signal if you enable the 5G wireless.

@Kevin_Z

I think the setup here is a central tl-er6120 and several other 4300 that act as access points

Thanks for the reply, I have a notebook connected by Lan to that device and have entered the settings screen but I see the same options I have before and cant find a wireless tab. They are supposed to be dual-band devices. Is the device I'm connected not the main one? How would I know if it is. The options I see:

Thanks for the screenshot, I understand it now. It seems that you have a central ER6120 which acts as the main gateway, all the devices in the network will obtain the IP address from the ER6120, that's why you cannot access the WDR4300 web GUI, I guess you cannot access to the WDR4300 directly if you haven't changed its default IP address before when you set it up.

You may try to disconnect the WDR4300 from the central ER6120, and leave the WDR4300 alone, power it off then on, then connect a computer to its LAN port, check if you can access its web GUI.

I came back to the 4300 in the bedroom, disconnected the cables from its LAN ports, restarted it, connected a notebook to its LAN port and now the notebook is connected to a network with no internet access. But now 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 don't open the GUI anymore saying that its not possible to reach this site.

Hi, disregard the last message, I have managed to access the router specific settings and I get the following screen:

From my understanding this router is acting as an access point. Could you guide me so that it will continue to act as such but while transmiting at 5 Ghz?

Great job yes

You can choose Concurrently using 2.4G and 5G, then you should be able to see both the 2.4G and 5G signal if your phone or laptop does support 5G.

Then you can refer to the below instructions to turn it into an access point again:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/417/

Thats the thing, both options are greyed out, unclickable. I haven't been able to fix this since. A little more help in the final stretch?

The screenshot you attached is actually not clear, do you mean you cannot choose the Concurrently using 2.4G and 5G or 5G? If possible, take a short video showing this issue, then we can confirm.

What I mean is that all three checkboxes are greyed out, I can't select any of them, clicking on them doesnt do anything.
