Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Connected laptop via 5Ghz mobile Hotspot and was getting same speeds as mobile >10mbps consistently

Now my speed has dropped to 4 Ghz which was what I was getting on 2.4Ghz Mobile Hotsport

Reinstalled drivers and issue not resolved.

Hi, here is the latest public driver for the Windows 10:

Refer to the link to install it manually, please remove all the other drivers that you have installed on the computer for the adapter:

This has not improved the speed , can you advise 

 

I am running Windows Home10 64 bit

System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition    Windows 10 Home
Version    20H2
Installed on    ‎07/‎10/‎2020
OS build    19042.685
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

 

I used this inf file

 

My device was showing as TP link and not as 802 like in the notes

It did say it was successfully installed

Thanks for getting back. Is it possible to modify the 5G wireless settings on the Hotspot? Is it a router? If that is possible, try to change the hotspot's 5GHz band channel to 36,40,44, channel width to be 80MHz to check again the speed.

How about the 5G speed on other devices when they connected to the hotspot's 5G?

Hi,

I am using Pixel2XL as hotspot with 5Ghz option 

I checked and my tablet gets more or less the same speed as my phone

My Computer Status is

The link speed between this computer and your phone hotspot seems quite normal, can you please run the speedtest multiple times to confirm again?

 

BTW, can we have the speedtest results on your tablet as well as on this Windows 10 computer when they both connected to the same hotspot?
