Best option for replacing Vodafone IRL router (SHG3000) to enable Google Wifi
Hi,
I've recently bought a Google Wifi system to enable Mesh networking in corners of the house that were having problems - also running a few Ring cameras on outside of house.
Before moving to Vodafone Ireland I made sure their router supported bridge mode - confirmed with sales/escalation to support twice that it does - only to move to Vodafone to find out that the supplied router SHG3000 has no bridge mode.
So now I'm looking to keep my investment in the Google Wifi system and find a replacement router that will replace my Vodafone SHG3000.
I'm connected to Vodafone by DSL not fibre (rural broadband!) so will have to support DSL.
Can anyone recommend a TP-Link modem/router that will work?
Ideally don't need the Wifi to be overkill as I'll be turning that off to not conflict with the Google Wifi. So ideally a device where I can turn off in built wifi.
In terms of setting this up I've read that you can configure the new router but would be great if someone has done this and has any tips
Connection Type = PPoE
Username = <modemserialnumber>@vfieftth.ie - serial number can be found on the router itself
Password = either "broadband" or "vodafone" (cant remember which)
vlanid = 10
Thanks for reading and looking forward to hearing you expertise!
Thanks
Neil
