IP & MAC adress of my VM is not viewable in DECO app
I am running a linux virtual machine on a machine on my network. I have configured VirtualBox as a bridge and given a proper MAC address to my VM. I was expecting to see my VM in my device list in my deco app. The Virtual machine is given a proper IP address using DHCP but I can't see it in device list.
PS: The Virtual machine is working properly and I can access it from my network

Hi, Sorry for the delay.
After checking with the senior engineers, there is some information for your reference:
Why VM is not showing on the online list?
Deco will recognize the client based on its MAC address.
When the host PC connects to the Deco via Wi-Fi and VM starts working, VM communicates with Deco by bridging the host PC's wireless adapter, rather than communicates with Deco directly.
So from Deco's view, it can only see the MAC of the host PC's wireless network adapter, and the VM's MAC is overwritten so that you can't see the VM on the client list on the Deco app.
What are the possible solutions if I want to open ports for VM?
Please refer to the following workaround:
1)Connect the VM to the Deco via a cable, when the VM shows up on the Deco app, open the port for the VM on the Deco app.
2) Record the VM's IP address when it's connected to the Deco via cable.
3) Disconnect the VM to the Deco via cable and connect via wi-fi instead.
4) Set the wired IP address on the VM's wireless adapter manually.
5) Connect the VM to the Deco via Wi-Fi, and then the port forwarding rule will take effect for the VM.
Please feel free to let me know whether this suggestion works or not;

The IP address on the Linux VM is assigned by the Deco, right?
Is the VM connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection?
Have you tried to reboot both Deco and VM to have a look?

@TP-Link I did both solution, with DHCP in VM and static IP assignment. As I was not seeing the VM in connected device list, I was able to create a rule in Deco in order to assign IP to VM; so I went for static IP assignment.
I did reboot the VM but no effect. I did not try to reboot Deco elements. I will try that.

@jkerneur Did you manage to fix your problem? I'm having same issue with x60. It seems Deco's DHCP server gave IP address to my VM (setup on Virtualbox), VM is working fine in local network but it's not showing up on Deco's device list. This is giving me a huge pain as I can't redirect ports to sometihng that is not showing up on the list.

Hi, Just want to confirm the following details:
The Virtualbox is able to get an IP address automatically from the Deco DHCP server and accessible in the local network;
But it did not show up on the online device list, right?
Was the Virtualbox the only device that had this issue?

@TP-Link Yes, exactly. This is just VM on virtualbox having that issue. Im using bridge option in VM network interface settings.

After checking with the engineers, they suggested that we should check whether you have set up the VM as the NAT/network gateway on the virtual network adapter settings;

@TP-Link Thanks a lot for your qick response. My VM is setup to use bridged addapret which is then pointing to my host's wifi nerwork card. Here is snapshot of my configuration.

@TP-Link I'm also having this issue with Hyper-V VMs in the network. They don't appear on Device List so you can not add port mappings to them.
Any comments on how to solve? My host machine is using Wifi Network.
