Can't decide between a RE605X AX1800 or a RE650 AC2600 range extender. Don't yet have an ax router or many ax devices but thought best to future proof and go to WiFi6. However, I see the signal rate is lower on the AX1800, will this be a factor when the max speed I get is 40-50Mbps? Also will the AC2600 be more reliable on my ac router and as it been on the market for longer more tried and tested?

@JP_Tech-Out34

Hi,

The AX1800 or AC2600 would not be the cause of the slow speed

Have you checked the Ethernet speed from the RE605x as well?

If standing in the same location, how about the wireless speed from the main router?

if possible, you could try to change the wireless channel on the main router, like channel 11 for 2.4ghz, channel 40 for 5ghz;

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@TP-Link thank you but I did not have a speed issue, just a purchase dilemma. I have since bought a RE605X and it seems to work well. I've currently got it set on high speed mode, emitting 2.4GHz
