Turning Guest network on or off causes all other networks to drop and recover

Dear Forum,
When I enable or disable the Guest WiFi networks on my AC5400, all the other primary WiFi networks drop-out and then recover after a few seconds. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Why are changes to the status of the Guest networks allowed to affect the Primary networks?

Hi DJE666, we have confirmed and tested this, when you change the guest network settings and save it, the wireless module on the router will reboot to take all the settings effect, so it is normal to lose the wireless connection temporarily.

May I know the hardware and firmware version of the C5400? Ensure the firmware is the latest.
Are you enabling/disabling the guest network on its web interface or on the Tether app? Are the wireless LEDs on the C5400 front panel still flashing correctly when the primary network disappeared? How long will it recover? From what I can tell, it seems it may reboot the wireless module when you save the guest network settings. We will confirm this.

Hi Kevin_Z. The issue occurs when I disable the Guest network via the Teather app or Browser gui.
Firmware version : 1.2.5 build 20190411 rel52981(4555)
Recovery is perhaps 60-90 seconds.
Yes, it feels like the radio module is being rebooted.

May I know when were you aware of this issue? When you firstly try to enable or disable the Guest network on the C5400, or this issue happens recently with some changes in the network? It is suggested to reset the C5400 to factory defaults, reconfigure it from scratch, then confirm again. Please pay attention to the Wi-Fi LED status on the C5400 when you enable or disable the guest network, does it show off then on in these 60-90 seconds? How about other LEDs?

This has been an issue since I started using the Guest network to actively control my children's access to the web. (Mac based access
control is useless when they can spoof random Mac addresses on their Xbox consoles).
Is a factory reset and then reconfigure using a saved .bin file ok? Starting from absolute zero will be a real drag....

No changes on LEDs when disabling and re-enabling Guest network. I now see that the iPhone Tether app warns about connection loss when you disable Guest networks. I am just surprised that the manipulation of the guest networks affects the primary ones...

Ok, perhaps the next generation of devices can have a truly independent Guest sub-system .
