Model: TL-WR840N
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: latest

Can I use a V3 firmware of the same router model WR840N V5? I want to use a custom firmware (Dd-wrt) only for V3 though

@EyonMiner

Nope, you are not allowed to install a firmware version that has been made for another hardware version of your router model.

If your WR840 is indeed hardware version V3 then you can only install firmware made for hardware version V3 and not firmware made for V5.

Just to confirm, why do you want to install a custom firmware for the WR840 V3? Is there an issue with the current firmware?
