Model: Adapter
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 201122 Rel.72659n

When my internet drops dates change to 2016, firmware all updated. Any reason why, set to get PC time too.Could router be causing my internet drops?

PS can't find my router in drop down menu is it worth updating to beta firmware (what changes are made in that) in that) see image to

@PaulPP You are not the only one getting internet drops with this DSL router.  Basically the router is crashing/rebooting due to a firmware issue (hopefully not a hardware issue) and it is affecting many of us.  The date/time isn't battery backed up so when the router reboots, it needs to refresh the date/time.  I have my VR2100 set up to gather the date/time from the freely available NTP servers.  I use the following I.P. addresses: 139.143.5.30 and 139.143.5.31.  Once the router has rebooted and established a DSL connection, the date/time is automatically corrected leaving only the first few system logs with the incorrect date/time.  Note also that there is a later beta firmware which is a slight improvement over the last one.  It is dated 4th Feb 2021 and can be found here: link.  Note also that the latest beta version will continue to show "Confidential Only For Test".

@scoomby OK thanks, will try the latest beta, only updated to the January one yesterday, now on BT one again so if i get no drops then I can be sure it is router not BT.  Will test it out again though cheers

@PaulPP

Mine had a reboot this morning with the latest beta firmware and it has kept the GMT0 time zone setting so I don't know why your router isn't doing the same
