Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.1

I recently bought a bunch of extra Decos so increase the Wifi quality in my house. They have two different Firmware versions (1.1.5 and 1.2.3), whereas my first three Decos have version 1.5.1. When I use the Deco app to check for an update, it says the network is up to date. When I used the Web UI I get the same result. What should I do to get everything updated to 1.5.1?

I am not 100% sure the hardware version is V1. The top 3 in the below list are my original Decos.

 Hi, sorry for the delay.

The latest firmware for Deco(EU) V1, now is

Deco M5(EU)_V1_1.5.3_20210203

https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202102/20210219/Deco_M5_V1_V2_V3_210203.zip

 

For the first three 1.5.1, you could try to update the firmware 1.5.3 directly;

For the 1.1.5 and 1.2.3, I am afraid it might not be able to update the latest directly;

You could try to update this one first：

Deco M5(EU)_V1_200924

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202010/20201009/Deco%20M5_V1_V2_V3_200924.zip

Then try to update to the latest 1.5.3 later;

PS: the manual firmware upgrade might need to be done via web UI>Advanced>System>firmware update;

I first tried the oldest version. The message I got was that I should use a more recent version of the firmware (I suppose because 3 of the 6 Decos have version 1.5.1.),
I then tried the latest version. And then nothing visible happened. *One* Deco turned out to have updated several minutes later, to 1.5.3 (not the main Deco). The other Decos did not update.

And when I tried it a second time the same Deco that updated earlier did a reboot.

I have in the mean time solved it by using the TFPT method explained at https://www.tp-link.com/nl/support/faq/2958/ They are now all up-to-date to 1.5.3 and everything seems to work flawlessly (knock wood).
