@krishna6194 guys just to update. I changed MTU value from 1500 to 1400 in the router and connection went up without any restart of C60 router.
@krishna6194 I understand you first connect with mobile hotspot and then switch to wifi connection and it works . does that mean you dont face any restart/reboot of router. I tried this and it doesnt work.
@Kevin_Z is there a latest firware upgrade available for Archer C60 version 2.x which might have resolved this issue? Its weird that tp-link site had last firmware for this model date in December 2016 (almost 5 yrs old)

May I have the detailed network topology/diagram? How do you connect these devices together?
What kind of VPN server you are using on the Archer C60, PPTP or L2TP?
Does the device connect to the 5G or 2.4G network when you are trying to connect to the VPN server? How did the connection recover when the C60 restarted?

@krishna6194 did you get a resolution to this issue? I am facing this same issue. What I found that it was working all fine when my office VPN was adhering to protocol DTLSv1.0 and recently they updated VPN to use protocol TLSv1.2, since then as soon as I connect to VPN (on any of these channels 5 and 2.4) it starts restarting continuously. I also tried connecting router on wire but it is same. Router works all fine when I am not connecting to VPN. Just to identify problem, I also tried VPN using Archer C6 router and it worked all great. I had an old linksys router and that too worked perfect with VPN. I tried to update firmware and it showed that my firmware is up-to-date 2.0.0 Build 20161206 rel.60287
Not sure why tp-link has not provided any further update on firmware since december 2016. Can someone help me to resolve this?

Hi, as asked krishna6194 previously, can we confirm how did you connect the C60 to the network, and where is the VPN server? Kindly provide a detailed network topology/diagram, then we can try to confirm it.
What kind of VPN server you are connecting to, OpenVPN or PPTP VPN?

Hi @Kevin_Z ,
Sorry for delayed response, I am using Cisco AnyConnect.
I suspect it's the firmware, as a work around I am connecting using mobile data to Cisco, then after 5 min switch to C60 which will connect in few retires.

Krishna.

Glad to hear that you got the issue resolved by changing the MTU from 1500 to 1400.
The firmware you can see on the official website would be the latest we can provide.

@krishna6194 I further fine tuned that and found on my router 1482 worked well so I will advice you to play with few more values between 1400 and 1500 to identify the best one (and largest) which works well
