Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.4.30

Many of my devices have problems connecting to my deco.  It appears that the device just doesn't respond to wifi auth requests consistently.  Other times it works fine, it seems most likely to happen with a device that has already been connected.

Here is dmesg log from a connection attempt:
[81671.345031] wlo1: authenticate with 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53
[81671.347610] wlo1: send auth to 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 (try 1/3)
[81671.487294] wlo1: send auth to 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 (try 2/3)

[81664.262533] wlo1: authenticate with 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53
[81664.269560] wlo1: send auth to 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 (try 1/3)
[81664.411021] wlo1: send auth to 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 (try 2/3)
[81664.517658] wlo1: send auth to 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 (try 3/3)
[81664.622975] wlo1: authentication with 21:3b:f3:b9:89:53 timed out
.

.

.

The only possible issue I see is that both the 2.4 gHz and 5gHz bands are using the most congested channel in a wifi heavy area with no way to change.

Has anyone else seen issues like this?

I have tried router restart, full powercycle, device powercycle, forgetting the network and rejoining from devices, device network restarts, removing devices from the deco network and readding.  Nothing seems to consistently resolve the issue.  It is rendering the nework virtually useless.

@mornjohgan

Did you have Deco M5 or Deco M9 plus?

--I checked under your TP-link ID and the Model number seemed to be Deco M9 plus.

Could you please try to update the firmware to be the latest one:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Firmware

Since your current firmware is a little old, if not able to update the latest firmware one time, you could start with the bottom one;

Thank you very much.
