@Maciej & @Scott79 - sorry to hear of the troubles you're having, as you say, that's the risk with beta I guess? Frustrating nonetheless

like @soram I'm in the UK so picked up 2x RE605X from Amazon, but I think I'll hold off implementing them until these issues are ironed out.

@soram looks to have the exact same setup and config as me and also went about implementation of OneMesh as I like do. Given we're both in the UK, where are the rest of you based? Do you think any of this could be location related, or related to features and channels available/not available in respective locations?

Hello @kwoolley

Eastern Europe for me (Poland, to be exact) but I don't think this has any bearing.

I mean, if I can't get it to work on auto settings (or SmartConnect), then my locale is irrelevant, right?

I just hope technical support can come up with something smart.

@Maciej I agree, just throwing it out there as I know certain channels are restricted in EMEA & USA but open in Asia.

@kwoolley

And I agree with you, but I think (I hope?) TP-Link took this into consideration.wink

@Kevin_Z

I have two 5G wireless in my AX11000. 5G-1 (channel 36-52) and 5G-2 (channel 100-116).

But the Onemesh only can use 5G-1.

I can not set the onemesh to 5G-2.

Please check with the engineer and fix it. Thanks.

@Thomaslin

I can't select the second 5 GHz band either, however I think this is intended.

@Maciej

Yep second 5ghz network isn't intended for extension or onemesh from my understanding.

The channel range is different to 5ghz-1.

@Kevin_Z

Is it possible to ask the developer to enable backhaul on the onemesh network using RE505X this would solve all my issues in one quick update?

Thanks

@Scott79

Sure, this suggestion has been forwarded to the developer to consider, they will evaluate if this can be achieved on the current firmware and hardware.

Hello @Scott79

Just to inform you that I've been contacted by technical support.

Below is a summary of our emails, with my replies in bold:

1) Support member informed me that he had set up a OneMesh configuration and that it was working smoothly.

Out of curiosity, and since I had some spare time, I reconfigured my OneMesh setup twelve or so hours ago. So far, there have been no 2.4 GHz signal drops, even though I added the RE505Xs in exactly the same way I had initially, that is with all bands set to auto. Right now, the TX rates for both RE505Xs are a stable 200-300 Mbps, but I will continue to monitor the situation.

2) Support member informed me that for him, Tether was working normally.

Tether works as badly as before, i.e. I cannot connect stably, either through Cloud or locally.

3) Support member informed me that he had reproduced the problem where you cannot change device icons in Tether.

Thank you for reproducing the icon problem, I hope the R&D team will be able to fix it.

4) Support member proposed that we arrange a remote session for setting up OneMesh on my router.

A remote session would be great, thank you for making the proposal. But since my setup is working (so far!), I would propose that we put this off until my configuration collapses again (which, obviously, I hope will not happen).

So, basically, I'm now waiting to see whether my OneMesh setup implodes again. yes

Maciej
