Unable to switch Deco M4R security to WPA2
Unable to change the wifi security to WPA2. We can't update the firmware as well. The app keeps telling me it is up to date.
Why is this feature is missing from your product? Even cheap routers provided by ISP have this feature.

Hi, would it be possible to change a different device and turn off the firewall settings on this device?
And could you please also refer to the attached picture to check for the IP address;

Hi, Here is the latest firmware which allowed changing the security mode:
Deco M4-1.4.3
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202010/20201009/Deco%20M4_V1_V2_200918.zip
please try to log into the web UI via http://tplinkdeco.net to manually upload the firmware ;
Thank you very much.

@TP-Link The http://tplinkdeco.net/ is not working. Should I be directly connected to the main Deco using the LAN cable?

You can open Main Deco IP address in a browser and it should work.
For example, if Main Deco IP address is 192.168.68.1, open http://192.168.68.1 in browser.
If you don't know Main Deco IP address, you can find it in Deco app.

@Alexandre. I tried the IP address from the Deco app and still getting the same result I mentioned above.

For starters: can you ping that same IP address from the device you are using to access Main Deco?

@Alexandre. Yep. Still getting the same result. This getting frustrating, to be honest. I am never buying another TP Link product again.

@TP-Link I am currently trying the fix you sent. Is it ok to upgrade the main unit first? because only the main unit is showing in the command prompt after I typed arp -a.
