Archer C6 US V2 freezing/hanging
Hello, everyone
I' using US V2 of the Archer C6 that is frequently hanging/freezing, dropping the 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and wired connections for a few seconds and then coming back, just to freeze again a few seconds later. I have to turn it off and wait a few minutes to try again to use it. It is happening way to often to the point I couldn't work and my family couldn't reliably browse the web and watch TV, so I have an older slower router in it's place for now.
I'm running the latest firmware from November 2020. It is not overheating, as it's placed in an well-ventilated unobstructed area. Does that sound like a defective unit? Or is the C6 know for freezes?
Any help would be appreciated.

You can try the following beta FW:
For Archer C6/A6US V2: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202011/20201110/ArcherA6v2_us_tw_c6us-up-ver1-1-8-P1[20201110-rel52599].zip
Turn the OneMesh OFF if you don't use it and test the wireless connection stability.
You can always revert back to the latest stable FW if you want.

Just to confirm, have you pay attention to the LEDs status when it crashed, can you see its wireless network when it crashed?
You can try to reset it to factory defaults either by pressing the RESET button or doing factory defaults via its web interface page, then reconfigure it from scratch to check again if it will work properly.
Is there any high load or high traffic when the router crashes?
How many devices connected to the router most of the time, what if you disconnect some of them?
Are you using the original power adapter that came with the box?

I had the LEDs turned off all day because the router was next to the TV and it could be distracting, so I would need to test it with the LEDs turned on.
I tried resetting three times before going back to the old router.
It would crash mostly during the night when everyone in the family was at home, but not always. I never noticed a pattern with usage.
The number of equipments we have at home would be one videogame, three smart TVs, 4 smartphones, two tablets and two computers, but they're never all connected at the same time, maybe have if it.
Yes I use all the original power adapter.
Right now I'm using the C6 with the beta firmware in router mode instead of access point mode and it's working fine for a couple of hours now, but to be fair I'm the only one using the internet at this moment. I'm going to wait and see how it behaves tomorrow and report back.

Good to know that. Please monitor the connectivity and get back to the community if the issue persists. Please turn on the LEDs, and monitor their status when the router crashes.
